A specialist in anxiety treatment for over 30 years, she has been using VR in therapy since 2010. Learn the benefits and limits of VR exposure, the research re: its efficacy, and whether results “in virtuo” generalize to “in vivo”. 

Dr. McMahon has presented CE workshops at CPA and APA on using VR in therapy and has taught a 10-session webinar on incorporating VR in the treatment of various anxiety disorders. You will have the opportunity to personally experience some of the virtual environments.

Dr. Elizabeth McMahon is a clinical psychologist who uses Virtual Reality to treat phobias, fears, panic, stress, and anxiety disorders in her private practice. She has been using VR for therapy and skills training since 2010, and teaches other psychologists to use this technology. She is currently writing a therapist training manual.
